Good morning! We would like to share some big news about the store!

After we re-opened last year, we asked customers, new and old, what would make us a successful store, and by far the most frequent suggestion was a better location closer to campus. So we spent the last several months looking for just that. We are happy to say that we will be signing a lease this week.

The new store will be at 351 College St, just one block East of the Ped Mall (4 blocks from the Pentacrest) on the corner of College and Gilbert.

We are moving out of the old location this weekend and will in the new spot and open for business the first week or so of July.

Deck lists are required and we will be holding it on Sunday, December 14, 2014. We will start the tournament at 10am, with doors opening at 9am, and great prizes paid to the Top 8.

This is your opportunity to earn 4x Planeswalker Points while playing for an invitation to the Regional PTQ!

$25 Standard with Top 8 Khans of Tarkir Draft
1st Place: $200 and RPTQ Invitation
2nd Place: $100

Top 8 also has a pool of 2 boxes of Khans of Tarkir

We are also offering special prices for pre-registration:
$20 if registered by December 7, 2014
$15 if you pre-register while participating in a Thursday Night Draft or FNM

If we get 40 pre-registrants, we will add another 4 boxes of Khans to the pool and expand the payout to the top 25%, with 1 box being added for every 10 pre-registrants after that.

We will be holding our Grand Opening on Sep 13, 2014 at 1pm. The format for the day will be Magic 2015 Sealed, with the first 12 people to sign up getting in for free!!! After the first 12, the entry fee will be $20, and the prize payout will be based on attendance.

Other cool things for the day include:

15% off everything in the store (not including booster boxes)

Limited numbers of $89.99 cash pre-order price for Khans of Tarkir booster boxes.

Door prizes - the first of which will be a Near Mint Force of Will.

This will also be the last day to get the $17.50 cash pre-registration price for the Khans of Tarkir pre-release. After the 13th, it goes to $25.

Every Wednesday is D&D Encounters, and there is always room for new players!

We are a little late due to inventorying hundreds of thousands of Magic cards, but we will be open on Tuesday, June 10!! We will have a focus each night, but people wanting to play other games are welcome - we have a large play area and a separate game room after all! The schedule is as follows:

It's official! We take possession of the new store on May 1 and will be open for business on June 1! We are at 535 Southgate Ave in Iowa City. It is quite a bit larger than the old location and we are very excited to be opening again. As previously stated, there are new partners involved - the four owners are Don and LaShelle Morrison, Rich Bowman, and Dawn Jones.

Iowa City Games is in the process of securing a new location for the store back in Iowa City. Under (75%) new management, we will be in a bigger space with better customer service! We have a tentative opening date, but we aren't ready to release that date until it is more solid.

Currently, the Buylist offers three methods of payment for your trade-in: Store Credit, PayPal, and Check. We only offer Store Credit for trade-ins via the website but we cannot remove the other options at this time. We have a request in at Crystal Commerce to make the necessary adjustments to the Buylist to remove them.
